Went to church today, I love my RCC peeps, and many were asking how much money has been raised and how much is still needed for the adoption.
Recently, a friend from church, Lori Stone, put on an AMAZING jewelry party for me and Rhonda Wicks helped put together a Pancake Breakfast! Both of these events together raised close to three thousand dollars. :) I also need to mention a sweet man by the name of Tom Davis. He is the owner of the Captain D's in Spring Hill, TN. He did not know me at all and yet he provided all of the food for free for the Pancake Breakfast. Talk about the kindness of a stranger. What amazed me the most is that he expected nothing in return. Mr. Davis, your kindness will never be forgotten.
I've decided to view this financial journey as a staircase with twenty steps. Three of the steps are already behind me and there are seventeen steps to go.
I will admit it angers me that adoption costs so much. I understand that people at agencies need to be paid for their work and that there's A LOT of red tape to work through, it's just frustrating that money stands in the way of a child being home in their mother's arms where they belong.
So even though the staircase seems steep, I will keep taking one step at a time to bring my little one home. I'm writing these blog entries so that one day I can pass them along to my child. I want her to know I'm already in love with her and that God already has a plan for her life.
I've had a couple of e-mails asking how they can help if they couldn't make it to the fundraisers. If you would like to make a contribution towards the adoption, you can visit staceyohara.chipin.com there is no (www.) in the chipin address.
If you have any questions you can e-mail me at staceyohara1@gmail.com.
Waiting for the next step...

Hitting the PAUSE button...
Many people have asked how the adoption journey is progressing. I haven't blogged for awhile. School started and that's another whole blog in itself. I'm on Fall Break right now and doing a lot of reflecting on what God's doing in my life. Sometimes I wish we could see the future, but I know God gives us 24 hours in each day for a reason. So I'm trying to live in the moment of each day...but still wanting so badly to have my little one home.
Obeying God and moving forward in this adoption journey....has REALLY ticked the enemy off. He's shaking everything around me, but I won't give up...I will finish this race and I hope you all will join me in praying for my little one and my family.
My agency is ready to present my profile to birth mothers. We are hitting the pause button for now due to funding. The agency said a birth mom could select me right away and I would need to be fully funded. So I told them we would need to wait while I did some fundraising.
I recently had a jewelry party which was an amazing evening with friends who came out in full support!
This coming Saturday, October 22nd, we are having a Pancake Breakfast at Captain D's in Spring Hill, TN. It will be from 7am to 9am and it will be 5 dollars at the door. So come on out for some family fun. Hope to see you there! :)
